They work absolutely great. Set the trap and bait with black sunflower seeds. We've had to attach the traps to tent stakes to prevent larger animals from carrying off the trap. **Q: Can you buy or get more removable bait cups?** A: I had one batch of traps whose bait cups broke the first or second time that each trap snapped (specifically the tabs at the bottom are what failed). I emailed the manufacturer, who mailed me a bag of 25 replacement cups. It took two days because the dogs were chasing it off every evening, but that second night, BAM! Rat problem gone. I was able to put the trap under a step that the rat was using, and the dogs couldn't get into it. Setting the trap was easy and felt solid. The spring is strong, but it was easy to release. I changed out the bait cup afterwards and that was easy to do, as well.
