What i am is a Mechanical Engineer and what i needed was a thread identifier for my team. All the other ones that came up on Amazon were for size #8 or M6 and up. In the electronics and scientific products field we need small and this one is perfect for that.Yes, i know that the correct engineering way to determine a thread is to use calipers to measure major and minor diameter, as well as thread pitch and then consult the almighty tables. But as a former machinist and mechanic, I think the heart of engineering is to look for easier ways of doing things.
