I normally extend the cable using an shielded 2 conductor cable. I have also used non shielded with no issues, but i believe the included cable has a shield. I have not tested the length it would be good for, but i have gone at least 50' this way. **Q: The ir receiver doesn't get the signals from remote control beyond 6 feet. any alternatives ir receiver to use with this repeater?** A: Sure-- any eye designed to work on 5V power with a miniplug will do. Don't get a 12V. **Q: Can i control the cable box from 2 different tvs/spots? Want to share a cable boxsnd br able to change the channels from either spot.** A: Yes. Provided that you have a sensor pickup in a different area if in a different room. It's possible to have one IR pickup sensor in one location and control your box from two areas of the same room. The unit most likely only has one pickup sensor, but multiple outputs to control other devices with one remote. **Q: I need at least 25 ft range from my Harman Kardon 3390 remote to this unit. Will it work at that range?** A: Remember this will only duplicate what your OEM remote, distance wise will be no different than OEM. That being said, if possible, try opening the cabinet door and see if your remote will work at that distance.
