I keep her "chewed" bones in an open container, so they dry out each day. I also make her stay near me while she chews, as I want to watch her and make sure she doesn't get anything caught in her throat. They stay good for along time, but one of them had a black mark inside it I noticed. When she got down to it, I took it away and tossed it. I do not know what it was, but I didn't like it.
