I could see that this hinge was almost identical. Rather than spend over $100 on a new cool seat, I took a chance on this hinge. Removing the old seat was challenging - righty-tightly, lefty-loosey but the bolts were upside down. Broke off the old plastic one but no problem. Spread papers down on a table. Put the seat down upside down and worked backwards, praying helps. The parts lined up. Removed the old hinge. Fastened the inside attachments using the old screws on existing holes first. Slight distance problem solved by using the new, smaller screws on one side. Then the outside ends. One side fit perfectly into the existing holes, but the other side was a tad bit off. Solved by using the slightly different design end parts from the old hinge with new screws. Perfect! Many thanks for this truly unique hardware. Review: Good sturdy replacement hinge. - Worked great. Warning - be careful when you take it out of the package because all of the pieces fall off the hinge tube and then you have to reconstruct the puzzle to get the pieces in the right configuration. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I would only recommend for use on a wooden seat *by A***I on November 22, 2016* I would only recommend for use on a wooden seat. This hinge is very good quality hinge. Was not difficult to install, but it requires a little patience. First, install the post bolts into the toilet bowl. These are really your only two fixed reference points. Second, install the cross bar through the post bolts. The lid hinge brackets fit in the middle of the bar between the tank posts and the seat hinge brackets hold the end of the cross bar in place. Third, you have to judge for yourself how to center and align the old toilet seat with the toilet bowl. This should be centered on the left and right side of the bowl. Also be sure the seat does not extends too far out front or too far back. Basically, you need to be a little artistic with centering everything. Fourth, I removed all the parts and assembled on my workbench. I could not install the screws for the seat with the hinge installed on the toilet bowl. It was much easier on a table. Install the seat screws into the mounting hinge brackets. Be sure you center the brackets left and right, and keep the cross bar about 1/4" parallel with the rear of the seat. The screws did not line up with my old hinge. Be careful you don't drill through a thin part of the seat or lid, else the screws will come through. Fifth, I installed the seat and bar onto the toilet bowl. Sixth, To install the lid, I placed a small piece of wood underneath the lid as a spacer to align the lid when installing the screws. Again, the new screws did not line up with the old holes. I filled the old holes with wood filler. That was really it. Like I said, it requires patience. Also, make sure you spread the seat hinge brackets as far as possible. That will keep the seat from sliding side to side. The cross bar was wider then I expected. I did not realize it before I mounted the seat hinge brackets. Ideally I would have cut the cross bar about 1/4" shorter. This would prevent the seat from sliding side-to-side. One remedy as I mentioned, is to spread the seat hinge brackets as wide as possible before you attach the seat. Update # after about a month, the chrome finish is flaking off.
