This is the problem our lid was designed to solve. The Cellar Made Sous Vide lid was designed specifically for the Rubbermaid Commercial 12, 18 and 22 quart food storage containers. It features a reinforced opening in the lid precisely sized to fit the Joule Precision Cooker. This combination creates a nearly air-tight seal on the container with the Joule in place which allows the evaporated water to condense on the underside of the lid. Once it cools it will then drip back into the container creating a cycle which prevents water from escaping. Because the lid is flexible it can be easily installed and removed while the Joule is mounted to the container. Really glad I purchased this. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great lid, quite a few reviewers are mistaken... *by J***. on October 22, 2020* 1, Your Joule DOES NOT NEED TO EXTEND TO THE BOTTOM, you all realize that the pump will bring the water up from those 1" of space right? If you wanted to clip it to the very top of the clip then the gap would be too big. 2. The lid limits evaporation and heat loss for the most part. It's not there to keep your food clean. Wrap a bath towel around your Rubbermaid container (or get a neoprene glove) and one over the top and you'll keep more of the heat in and reduce energy costs (and coil wear). I use old towels, so no extra costs like buying those silicon floating balls. --- So, the lid is well made and fits well.
