Review: Miracle product for our spa! - My boyfriend and I are "newbies" to hot tub care, and have been having problems with water clarity and chemical balance. The water always looked cloudy, and at times looked "green", and we had to, upon the advice of the place where we bought the tub, drain, clean and refill the tub. This guy, in Lansing, Michigan, kept saying we needed to empty our tub several times, run his assortment of cleaners through the system, drain again and again. Ridiculous! A friend told us about this product, Spa Bright and Clear, and said it was fantastic. It is fabulous! Our chemicals were balanced, but the water was cloudy, with a slight "film" on the surface, and I never felt clean getting out of the spa. I added 4 ounces of this product to the tub, let it run for a half hour, and could not believe the stuff that accumulated around the water's edge. It was yellow, the consistency of butter, and I had to get in and use a cleaning sponge to keep removing it and re-running the jets. After three sessions of this, our water is sparkling clean, blue, and crystal clear. Apparently this product causes loose particles to cling together so that you can remove them from the water. I also used a mesh strainer to clean the bubbles from the edges of the tub while the jets were working. Why the business owner never told us about this is a mystery. He sells Leisure Time products, but not this. I love to just look at the hot tub, lights on at night, and marvel at the difference this has made for us. Buy this product! Saved us lots of grief and misery, and we now love our hot tub!

**Q: Can this product be used in a built in spa with tile and plaster?**
A: I presume so, the effect of using this product is microscopic particles clump together and form a paste-like substance around the tub at the water line, which leaves the water clear.  You will need to wipe off the spa at the water line to "finish" the process.  If your spa has a porous surface at the water line, it would be a mess, but ceramic tile shouldn't be too hard to clean.  Hope that helps.

**Q: How quickly can you tell that it is working? Does it take minutes, or hours, or a day?**
A: Depends on the condition of your water when you place the product in the water. It will work in minutes if the water is not too bad. Should be used on conjunction with the rest of the Leisure Time products.

**Q: Does any one know why did the price go up from 13.23 to 15.52 in ~7 months?**
A: The advantage to online selling is you can change prices on the fly based on inventory. If you are low on inventory and you may sell out before you get more, you’d be STUPID not to raise the price to slow down sales and improve ROI. It is NOT “greed”, it’s common sense retailing.

A: This can be added as often as needed. There is no set regiment for this chemical. It's one of the items used to help clear water. You use your spa 2-3 times a week. It also depends on how many bathers use it. It helps with removing smaller particles in the water. This is not a preventive chemical rather it's used when you need to make the water clearer. If you don't have problems with cloudy water then you may never need to use it. Considering though all the chemicals and minerals in water supplies you most likely will use this product. You can also do some comparative shopping on the internet. There are other products out there besides Leisure Time. The Spa Depot specializes in spa's and hot tubs. Some of their products are comparatively priced. I buy both from Amazon and Spa Depot.

I’m a novice hot tub owner. After three weeks, I noticed the water getting cloudy with a greenish tint. All of the chemicals were balanced, but I couldn’t figure out what the problem was. I even changed the disposable filter with no change in water quality. I was instructed to try a clarifier and chose this one based on the number of great reviews. After putting it in the water and letting it circulate about 20 minutes lots of bubbles and scum rose to the surface. I simply scooped out the scummy bubbles and cleaned around the edges. The water was crystal clear in 30 minutes. I’m now making this part of my weekly cleaning routine.
