Review: Solid, Accurate, and Easy to Use - I’m very happy with the Weighmax W-2809. I primarily use it for weighing packages before shipping, and it has made the process so much easier. The stainless-steel platform feels solid and durable, and it’s large enough to handle most of the packages I need to weigh without feeling flimsy. The digital display is bright and easy to read, and I really like being able to switch between ounces, pounds, and grams depending on what I’m weighing. The readings have been consistent and accurate in my experience, which is exactly what I need when calculating shipping costs. Another big plus is the AC adapter. I like having the option to plug it in rather than constantly worrying about batteries, especially when weighing multiple packages. The controls are straightforward and the scale is simple to use right out of the box. Overall, this is a well-built, versatile scale that does exactly what I need. If you regularly ship packages or just want a reliable scale capable of handling heavier items, I think this is an excellent choice. Great price on this as well, good value.
Review: Highly Versatile, Accurate, and Well-Designed Scale! - Absolutely love this scale! It is incredibly versatile, working perfectly for everything from heavy packages and letters up to 90 lbs (with precise 0.1 oz graduation) to daily use in the kitchen. The sleek silver design is compact enough to not take up too much space, yet large enough that items don’t fall off like on smaller kitchen scales. I especially love using it in grams for recipes, honey, and jams; the tare function makes it so easy to zero out a bowl and add ingredients. It gives consistent, accurate readings every time, and easily swaps between four measuring units: lb, Kg, lb/oz, and oz. The screen is a massive plus—the extra-large, back-lit LCD display is super easy to read in any environment, and you can still see it even with a large bowl on top. The buttons also feel nice to use. I’ve been running it cordless on batteries, but it’s great that it comes with a power cable too. Highly recommended!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How can you tell the weight of large boxes that block the view from the led screen?**
A: There is hold function. you can press HOLD key to lock the numbers and then you can remove the big box. Thank you

**Q: Self calibration option??**
A: Scale does NOT have an internal calibration feature. You must use an external calibration weight that weighs exactly 2 Kg or 5 pounds to calibrate the scale at the location where it will be used. See "Scale Calibration and Verification" in REVIEWS section below for a comprehensive explanation. The TARE feature only temporarily resets the scale to ZERO, and is only used when the item to be weighed must be placed in a container (such as weighing liquids) and the container's weight is to be excluded.

**Q: Can this run on batteries alone, or does it have to have ac power?**
A: It can run on batteries or AC.

**Q: If the accuracy dimishes over time, can it be recalibriated against a known weight (like a 5 lb dumbell)? Thanks.**
A: yes, with a calibration weight. Most dumbbells, aren't the exact weight. For instance, 5 lbs dumbbell usually 4 lbs something or 5 lbs something. It's not exact 5 lbs.If you are insist on using a dumbbell, use olympic standard dumbbell

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly Versatile, Accurate, and Well-Designed Scale!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Accurate, Easy to Use, and Built Better Than Expected
*by C***S on September 15, 2026*

I’m really impressed with this scale for the price. It’s compact enough that it doesn’t take up much space, but the 90 lb capacity gives it plenty of range for weighing packages and other heavier items. The stainless steel platform feels solid and is easy to clean. The display is large and easy to read, and I really like having the option to run it on batteries or plug it in. The tare and hold functions are also very handy, especially when weighing larger items or boxes. The scale is quick to settle on a weight and the 0.1 oz increments are more than accurate enough for my needs. Setup was basically plug-and-play, and the controls are straightforward without having to constantly refer to the instructions. For the price, this is a great little scale. It feels much more substantial than some of the cheaper shipping scales I’ve used, and the 90 lb capacity makes it useful for much more than just small packages. Definitely recommend it if you need an affordable, accurate scale for shipping or general weighing.
