There have been many times i have used the cable tester on home made ends and has greatly helped when trying to fault find. The ease of use off all of the kit can be a bit fiddley depending on what you are doing. there are better options if you are doing a lot of connector ends for example (RJ45 Ends) Crimps and plugs where you can push the inner cores through the connector making life a lot easier. This does come with a big cost in most cases though. With a bit of practice you will be making good ends off in no time.
