Review: Awesome shaving brush at a fraction of the price of comparable brushes! - I decided to upgrade my morning routine and give myself something to look forward to when I'm feeling lazy and thinking about sleeping in. I also felt like it was time to stop using an electric razor since it was leaving me with a very amateur-looking shave (lots of stray hairs that I couldn't get no matter how much I tried). I wanted to get the most out of the safety razor experience, so I did a lot of research into which products are needed and how to use them. I made all of the purchases together on desertcart and tried them out as a set. After using an electric for the past 10 years, I was pretty worried that I would get some serious razor burn, but to my surprise I had none whatsoever! I was pretty careful to not get too aggressive with the shaving, so I went WITH the grain and only made one or two passes on each area. The result was a shave that was 100X closer than an electric with no discomfort, nicks, cuts, or razor burn! Here's what I bought and why: Safety Razor: Parker 96R – Long Handle Butterfly Safety Razor https://www.desertcart.com/dp/B002IFFSOS/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_2 This safety razor has a great weight to it, a long handle for a comfortable grip, and a black and chrome coloring that looks great with the other items on the list. I read through them and found that the pre-shave oil is still a very popular product and from my experience, it definitely helps prep your beard and skin for the shave. This soap is more like a cream. I scooped out some with my fingers, put it in the bowl, added some hot water, and then worked up a lather. It felt and smelled amazing! In reality, I didn’t want to wash it off because it just felt so good! Second, this stuff is rated as the absolutely best smelling after-shave balm out there and I can attest to that. It smells so great that I stopped using my cologne. Based on the small amount that is needed, this bottle should easily last for a year or more. Three, there are other “luxury” brand shaving balms that have been bought out by big brand companies and their formulas have changed significantly as a result. That means that some of the products out there have great ratings, but only because of the number ratings BEFORE they recently changed. If you look into other luxury shaving brands, then you will see what I mean. Just drop in the used razor when it’s too dull for shaving. It holds over a hundred, so you can go without emptying it for a few years. It’s pretty cheap, so maybe you can just throw it away when it’s full? Your choice. That’s my whole set up. If you want to get into safety razor shaving, then I highly recommend the products on this list. All-in-all, you will spend about the same on this list than you would on a TAOS starter kit that only has the oil, brush, soap, and balm. I’m a morning shaver, so the sandalwood scent works great for me, but evening shavers may consider the same products in lavender scent if you want a relaxing experience to help you sleep.

I decided to upgrade my morning routine and give myself something to look forward to when I'm feeling lazy and thinking about sleeping in. I also felt like it was time to stop using an electric razor since it was leaving me with a very amateur-looking shave (lots of stray hairs that I couldn't get no matter how much I tried). I wanted to get the most out of the safety razor experience, so I did a lot of research into which products are needed and how to use them. I made all of the purchases together on Amazon and tried them out as a set. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfecto is "perfection!"

First, I want to say that "Pop!Shop" did an awesome job, with amazon, in taking my order and processing it! I ordered on August 5th and it was delivered on August 8th. By the way, for those of you who prefer receiving an order at your post office box mailing address, rather than at home or the office, they DO ship to a post office mailing address! Ok... My review. I am as blunt and outspoken as the Republican candidate seeking the nomination, if you saw the first GOP debate. The 'Perfecto' shaving brush is just as my headline states, "perfection." As soon as I opened the box containing both the shaving brush and the Perfecto chrome shaving stand I knew that I received high quality products. Best of all, both were reasonably priced. If you have read any of my other reviews, "You get what you pay for." most of the time and Perfecto along with 'Pop!Shop' and Amazon delivered just what I paid for, good quality products and at a good price. The shaving brush, in my opinion, is REAL badger hair or some other animal hair. Personally, I have never petted a badger! However, the hair (bristles) are very soft. My wife saw me open the box and asked if she could use it to apply make-up. I think another reviewer said they use it for the same purpose. Anyway, I told my wife she would need to get her own. We all come to Amazon for research before purchasing a product, whether it is through Amazon or elsewhere. I can tell you that the shaving brush is what I recall from my first experience wet shaving when my father gave me my first razor, shaving brush and shaving bowl. Perfecto has brought back what went by the way side as our society became oriented to "throw away" consumer goods, as I was one of those consumers caught up in the hype of cartridge type razors, etc.. Chalk that up to a tight class schedule in college!!!! Another reviewer wrote that they experienced some "shedding" when they first used the brush. I also experienced the same. However, the shedding I observed from the brush was maybe 3 or 4 hairs (bristles), a combination found in the sink, my face and my beautiful BALD head. I would think that this is to be expected the first few times using the brush, as someone stated in another review it is the "break-in" period. I wrote a review about another shaving brush included in a kit I bought at one of the popular brick and mortar discount stores. (I had decided that I wanted to return to my "roots" as a kid growing up when I was truly wet shaving.) The brush that was included in the kit was no where near the quality of the Perfecto shaving brush. The bristles (hair) were coarse, very stiff, especially, compared to the Perfecto shaving brush. The brush lost a lot of bristles, continuously, from the first day of use. Sometimes there were "clumps" of bristles in the sink. It was that bad! That brush now thrown away lasted a year. I think that I will get several good years of use from the Perfecto shaving brush. In my opinion it is really that good. By the way, just because a product may be the "Number 1 Seller" does not always mean it is the best value. You should consider all aspects of a product and not just the selling price. Anyway, like all good things, as good as the Perfecto shaving brush is, it will eventually wear out. Here's a tip to extend the life of any shaving brush. When rinsing the soap from a brush, use cold or maybe lukewarm water. Hold the brush in the palm of your hand. Rinse the brush on one side. Then lift the brush, turn it slightly and again rest the brush in the palm of your hand and rinse. Do this until the brush has been completely rotated and rinsed. After rinsing the brush, holding the brush handle with the hair (bristles) pointed down in the sink just shake (flicker) the brush lightly from side to side to remove the bulk of the water. Then place the brush in a holder, hanging upside down from the handle. This will allow the brush to properly "air dry" without distorting the brush's hair. Buy it! You will love it! I actually look forward to shaving again!!
