It's hard to believe that this is such a popular product category for desertcart basics to get into but I'm glad they did. The pit is big, heavy-duty, and easy to assemble (my 7-year-old basically did it himself). The metal seemed a little thin but it was fine in our first and second fires, which likely got up to about 1000 degrees. The design is perfect with a deep pit and a nice guard rail around the edge. There are little vent slits around the sides to allow oxygen in and it's not difficult to get this puppy going. A fire mat might be helpful. We put ours right on the grass and that grass is no more. We put it up on bricks the second time but I'm not sure if that made a difference. The metal also rusts very easily (pictured). But I like that look so I'm not worried about it unless it completely disintegrates. Review: Nice fire pit for the price - The fire pit is a good size and decent quality for the price! The poker that came with the fire pit was not good quality and broke within 3 weeks of getting it.
