Review: As advertised..... Kind of. - I'm updating my original review. I have come to love this griddle. After 30+ years of using many griddles, this has proven to be the best of them all. Its costly for sure, but you absolutely wont find a better griddle that heats evenly with great non-stick. I get the reviews about the exact temperature of the settings, no issues, I jest set it lower... I'm the grandpa who makes the worlds best pancakes... Perfect $160 for an Electric Griddle, just completely crazy, but I decided to buy this for two advertised features. Ever heat distribution and easy to clean, and one feature important to me with the higher sides but not as high as a large electric skillet. Yes the temperature was even. I used a scanning laser thermometer and cooked french toast this morning. Set the temperature to 350 and let it preheat. the temperature varied 5-12 degrees edge to edge, end to end... perfect Not perfect is that when set to 350 the temp was 405 degrees, so I adjusted to 300 to accomplish my goal. Six slices of toast were cooked even with no hot spots whatsoever, a lifetime first and worth a premium. Yes it was very easy to clean but with four 20" components it took up some counter space to dry. The quality is medium and will take special care not to damage but not cheap and flimsy, this is where the cost was excessive, for this much I expected a substantial build. each component will flex easily except the cooking plate, this is solid but has a very warning to not drop it.. I think I'm an idiot for spending this much, but every once in a while ??
Review: Finally found the perfect griddle… BUT!!! - ***UPDATE*** Im leaving my reviews at 5 stars because I love this product, but I cannot recommend buying it through this seller. They are not an authorized dealer so the manufacturer won’t honor their warranty. *** No, it's not just a griddle, how dare you! It's a work or art! Okay, it's just a griddle, but it a REALLY good griddle and I've been looking around for a long time. Bought and returned a few (sorry desertcart), but I finally bit the bullet and spent more than I would have ever thought. but it was totally worth it. Some of the things that make this so great... The burner isn't attached to the cooking surface so it heats the air underneath and that creates a very even cooking surface. How about pancakes that look like pancakes and not rorschach tests, but rather golden brown? Clean up. Clean up is another amazing feature because it comes apart completely. The base, burner, cook surface all come apart allowing you to use soap and water and not just wipe things down. One note! The base is hollow, so you can clean it but be careful because if you run water directly on it, you will get water taped inside. Learned the hard way and had to take it apart to dry. The lid. I was standing over an entire pack of bacon snapping grease spits of death when I remembered, duh, a lid. No moe burns. The cord. Ever notice that your griddle either forces you to use an extension cord or somehow have a custom griddle spot on your counter with an outlet 1 foot from the griddle? This comes with a nice long cord that actually lock in and when it's locked it also locks in the cooking surface. My last griddle, on the first use I wasn't thinking and used a metal spatula. Big scratch, right out the gate. This COMES with a metal spatula. It's not a delicate non-stick surface. It's heavy duty. Flip and smash those burgers! I had family over and I was working the line like a pro, cooking for 6, 3 cakes at a time then into the oven to stay warm. Bacon on one side. Hash on the other (little bacon grease seeps into the hash, gotta love it). I t was actually fun to cook for 6 people. As you can see I've completely geeked out over this. I love cooking and I love when I get an kitchen item that really improves the experience. Air Fryer. Instant Pot. A griddle that can actually handle restaurant style cooking. You're in the hall of fame. Stop looking. Spend the extra.

**Q: Debating between this and the broil king pcg-10 professional portable nonstick griddle.  that one is highly recommended and is $99 right now. Advice?**
A: I have never sold Broil King so I cannot comment on their item but have sold Zojirushi products for over 20 years. I know this brand to be of good quality and reliable.

**Q: Does it have a oil drain or how does the oil drain when cooking bacon or sausage?**
A: There is no oil drain.  If I'm cooking something after bacon/sausage, I wipe out the grease with a paper towel.

**Q: How do you care for the non-stick surface?  Mine was shipped with a metal spatula. I would assume that was a no/no on nonstick.**
A: First, do NOT use spray oil. Just cook on the surface. Wipes off easily with cloth. (Seriously, it is by far the most non-stick surface I have ever used.) I hesitate to use the metal spatula. (Maybe it would work, but I'd rather not find out! Surface looks perfect after using plastic spatulas.)

**Q: Is it pfoa/ptfe free**
A: Polyflon is the brand used by Daikin to market polytetrafluoroethylene, which is often referred to by the trade name Teflon. When heated  above 350 ºC (662 ºF), PTFE begins to degrade, releasing fine particles and a variety of gaseous compounds that can give one polymer fume fever if they can breathe enough of them. To heat a pan above 350°C one would have to put it on a burner at medium high heat without food. You should not blacken food on a fluoropolymer coated pan. It is well known that the fumes from a hot fluoropolymer coated pan can kill birds.

I'm updating my original review. I have come to love this griddle. After 30+ years of using many griddles, this has proven to be the best of them all. Its costly for sure, but you absolutely wont find a better griddle that heats evenly with great non-stick. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cooking surface the size of a flight deck.

This thing is awesome! When I looked across the cooking surface I had flashbacks to my time in the Navy stationed aboard an aircraft carrier looking across the flight deck. In other words, it's huge! I bought this because I'm often juggling stove top real estate and while I have a double burner griddle it is about 15 years old and the non-stick isn't what it used to be. Besides that there were times it just wasn't big enough. Those days are gone. I can still use all four gas burners and now the huge cooking surface of the Zojirushi EA-DCC10. I haven't done breakfast on it yet, but you could pretty much cook everything on this one griddle all at the same time. I also own a Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 5 1/2 cup rice cooker and my satisfaction with that item made purchasing this Zojirushi product that much easier. I've just received this griddle and used it twice. First was for carne asada tacos. It was a breeze cooking the meat, enough for my three person family to have three large tacos apiece. After I had cooked the meat most of the way I moved it over to one side and could fry up the tortillas, four at a time with the meat still cooking on one side (cilantro lime rice cooking away in my Zojirushi rice cooker). Could easily do six tacos sized tortillas at once if thats all you were doing. The non-stick was perfect and cleaned easily with a paper towel. Next I cooked about three pounds of chopped chicken thighs to make my lunches for the week. Once the chicken was nice and browned I again moved it to one side and cooked diced onion and jalapeno on the other side before mixing it together once the onions were soft. I normally do this in a skillet and remove the meat after it's brown and cook the onions then add the meat back. With this I was able to do it all on this one surface. I will update this review as I use the griddle more, but out of the box and after the first couple uses I'm very happy with my purchase. **UPDATE** Man, this thing continues to impress. I cook on this several days every week and have been enjoying every minute of it. I already cooked a lot from scratch, so it isn't like I'm cooking because I have the sizzler, but I have moved the majority of my cooking from the stovetop to this unit and my results have improved. I've cooked everything from NY Strip steaks, pork loin chops, flank steak, cubed chicken thighs, eggs, ham, homestyle potatoes, fish to onions and sauerkraut. The size is awesome. It's safe to say you could cook about 5lbs of chopped meat on this thing, no problem. The outer edge stays completely cool to the touch. The surface cleans very easily. After about a month the non-stick is looking rock solid. It's an attractive piece of cooking equipment. Loving it!
