It came out of the box set up, there was absolutely no assembly required. We just hung it and it was ready to go. The day we set it up, my husband took a swing on it just to test how well it stands up to weight. He laid back and said it was like swinging on a hammock. When the kids go out to play it is always a race to see who gets it first. I have a two and four year old boys and while they "can" fit on it together they prefer to swing on it like they are escaping hot lava. We love this swing and are thinking about getting two just to stop the bickering.
