Something that would last without wearing out (like stock cables that come bundled with your phone/components). That’s when I discovered Cable Matters. I’m always skeptical of a new or lesser well-known brand. But I thought, hey I’ll give them a try. I have never been disappointed, and this cable joins many other cables from Cable Matters. In fact, when searching for new cables, Cable Matters is often one of the companies I check. That’s why I am super excited to do this review. It was a no brainer. I already knew the quality I was going to get and I’m glad I could support them with a review they justifiably deserve. Funny. I literally just purchased a cable almost exactly like this one – even from the same company! I was looking for: USB-C (USB3/4), 20 Gbps transfer rate, 100W power delivery, passive cable, and 6 feet. The only difference between the two is this one is square shaped at the plug; whereas, my other cable has rounded edges. I’ve had the other cable for a few months. It has gone with me on multiple trips. Has survived, very durable. This one is made of the same stuff, nearly identical, and is likewise very durable. It will last too. The big things to note. It does NOT have a 40 Gbps transfer rate. But that also means the cable is passive versus active. Active needs to be powered, passive does not. Active cables wont work in a non-powered USB slot; whereas, passive will. Just a little bit of a side note in case you need the faster transfer rate or active cable.
