I'm not sure what the reviewer was talking about it only being able to be worn on the left, I think that the bad reviews are user error, you can just scoot the belt around your waist and position the lead where ever you like, right, left, back, front....I have two dogs, bought two of these and put one on the left hip and one on the right and do a short lead so they don't tangle when walking both of them by myself. Then having the added ability to be hands free is so liberating, I can drink water, check my phone, order food or drinks, carry food or drinks. Then having the added ability to hitch them to a tree, picnic bench or what have you while resting or eating somewhere makes this an all in one problem solver. They’re high quality, well built and engineered and last many, many years, if not decades! I have one Ruffwear leash for 15 years and counting. Their products cost more but they will outlast cheaper made and cheaper cost products. I have two dogs and one is young and spunky and a big time puller. She weighs 30 pounds but she feels like a 100 pound dog pulling. I found it so hard to walk my slower senior and my younger dog on leashes together so I got this leash so I could tether the younger one to me and control her better. But sometimes I use it to walk my senior dog solo and it’s just such a nice pace to walk handsfree. It’s easy to use the lock to release more rope and lock it off in an instant. To shorten the rope you just pull back on it by hand which is also easy. I find it very intuitive and easy to control the length on demand. I actually wear this around my waist along with another waist belt that is a water bottle holder. It’s so nice to not have to carry stuff in my hands on a walk or need to wear a bag or backpack.
