You place this sort thick paper disc in the cylinder .. than add some ground meat and add another disc on top. repeat till all the discs are used... Then you use the press to flatten them to the thickness of the cylinder.. Then flip over the cylinder and using the press in the top.. you push out the burgers..................the results are neat But you need a lot more disc's.. but mh thinking is you could use some parchment paper to make some additional discs.The process of making the burger makes them even.. so cooking them should be better as they will cook at the same time. The burgers actually fit larger buns - nice!It is very easy to use and you can make burgers as thick or thin as you want. Works really well for veggie burgers!The one thing I like less about it is it needs to be hand washed - just me being lazy! They do say it can go in the dishwasher on the top shelf and on low heat setting. First, it is fairly tall for most dishwasher top racks. Second, I never use my dishwasher on a low heat setting.
