## Questions & Answers

**Q: Why do people still use these?**
A: These printers are nearly indestructible. The main reason people still use these is for making carbon copies on continuous paper which ink jet amd laser printers cannot. Plus they (obviously) last forever!  I remember using these in my accounting class back in 1992! The exact same one!  And look, they're still being used!  Definitely NOT "Made in China" product that breaks after 3 uses!

**Q: Can I install this on the ceiling?**
A: You sure can!

**Q: Can you use track paper with this printer?**
A: Yes, you can use narrow track paper with the model.  Fan fold 8.5x11 inch pages with the tracks added.   You can also load various types of labels within the width specs.

**Q: Is there a Windows 10 driver for this printer?**
A: All I have is a not new printer that works fine with W7 in my office. It is not new. W10 is brand new.I am not a dealer, nor a W expert. In the past one had to look in W to see if they have the driver, not the other way around. Sorry, ?????

We replaced an aging printer of the same model that has been under hard use for many years. We use the printer through the serial card connection. We could not get it to connect until we saw that a newer serial card is needed for the newest printers of this model although there is no model change apparently changes were made in the serial interface. This raised the cost of the replacement of course. Google to find the serial numbers and required newer card if you use the serial interface. Otherwise the printer is a workhorse and performs as expected.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This printer is a great product as long as you are aware that Microsoft Windows has an Auto Form Feed function

This is a great printer, and is fairly easy to get working, although cycling through the menu system to turn off certain functions can be a bother. The manual is in typical Japanglish which makes it difficult to learn about how to shut off the auto form feed and line feed functions, so bring lots of paper. Windows also adds in some fun because there is no apparent way to turn off auto form feed or line feeds from happening either (like in notepad). This can be a pain with labels because it always wants to eject a page of labels after it is done printing. It will print labels just fine and pound through multi part forms quite nicely. You are also stuck with using the windows based font system unless you INSTALL ANOTHER PRINTER and cycle through the printer types until you see 'TEXT ONLY'. this is the only good way to get the printer to use its own font system. Don't worry, you can just select which 'printer' you want to use whenever you print so you can use both. I am sure with a bit more knowledge, and messing with this printer I can get it to work for me perfectly, and I am pretty happy with the printer. I do miss the nice STAR Micronics Gemini printers <3 <3
