The Track Pack is the very best deal BY FAR - you get the most track for your money, hands down, and desertcart.com's price beat everything on ebay as well, so I liked avoiding the stress of bidding. We found the best bang for our buck by buying the 14-pc pier set separately, instead of as part of another completer set that had a train station (my kids don't pay that much attention to accessories, they are so into track, track, and more track!). With their original starter train set that they got for Christmas (just a circle track), the 14 pc pier set, and this track pack, they were able to build a 3-leaf clover set up with a bridge to go over and under, and an additional fourth "leg" of track going out to two separate bumpers where they park for the night. The switches included in the set are THE BEST and my two boys have so much fun switching their train from one track to another. I think switches and bridges made all the difference for my boys - the little circle was lame after about an hour! We spent $50 on their original Christmas set that came with the train, and the boys paid for the rest from their savings fun accounts: $80 (Track Pack including shipping) and $18 (14-pc Pier set, also from desertcart.com,including shipping), and I think the boys are going to content (not to mention a bit broke!) for a very long time! Will this set work?** A: If the set is HO scale, then yes. This track set is universal to any HO locomotive or rolling stock. No power supply is included or the track to connect the power. **Q: What shape is this when its all done?** A: First,I have used bachmann ez-track for all my layouts which include the purchase of two Greatest Hobby Packs in the past. I also use DCC power with a booster for most and have never had any problem.Depending on what you have to start with, this is a fine starter set to make a nice layout using the instructions which come with the pack.If you have more track its only limited to your imagination, amount of track, and your ability and experience.The Pack comes with both straight(9) and curved track(20),a terminal rerailer(1),regular rerailer(1).Hayes bumbers (2),and left and right electric turnouts(2) each.The turnouts DO use DC power so if you run DC, the accessory terminals on your power supply can be used for them. It DOES NOT come with any type of power supply so be aware! This particular pack is STEEL track which i like for its lower electical resistance, but Nickel alloy is also available for less rust corrosion( I haven't really experienced this as long as the track is cleaned once in a while.) Any thoughts?** A: I would guess that the polarity is not maintained. If you have two spots where the power is supplied from the transformer, disconnect one.
