You should be able to match the wires up one by one with those terminal markings. If you have a year make and model of what you are using this switch for I might be able to find a wiring schematic for it also. Hope this helps. **Q: Will this work for a 1974 Johnson 115?** A: Not sure, ours is a 98 Johnson. Worked for us. But we took the old one out to get the part number off before we ordered. **Q: will this work on a 1980 60hp** A: Yes. **Q: Will this work with a 1972 v4 100hp outboard ?** A: Your engine isn't the issue.....this is a part for the control box. If you have an OMC/BRP control box from 1977 to 1995, it will fit. If not, it won't. I suppose it is possible your control box is newer than your engine, but if this is the original box, the switch won't work. It fits tightly into a slot with lips in the control box and must be connected to some short wires inside the box, so I doubt it could be adapted.
