I like the feel of it in my hand and the bag dispenser is a very handy built-inn device. The controls to lock the leash work as expected and am very pleased about that action. It feels sturdy in my hand. Now the complaint part. The reflective material that is added to the flat ribbon lead has pealed off the ribbon and is no longer reflective. This was one of the features I was glad to see included with a puppy leash. Unfortunately, I can only provide a rating of 3.UPDATE: Here it is, August 2, 2018. I have been using this leash for 10 months. OK, so what if the reflective tape came off, the strong lime green ribbon tape has held up well and if it weren't for the fact that the plastic tab where the tape comes out broke off, I'd still be using it. That said, I am ordering another one today because it has lasted 10 months! That is unheard of. All the ones I have purchased at retail outlets have only lasted a couple months and I'd have to buy another. The rewind mechanism is strong, the tape is strong, the bag holder is unique and it fits well in my hand. SO, therefore, I have upgraded my rating to a 5 for an almost perfect design of a doggie leash! If I can make just one recommendation, change out the plastic insert with a pot metal insert so that it doesn't break where the tape comes out!I will make another posting after a few months with the new one! ### ⭐⭐ Strap curling causes problems *by D***H on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 2, 2018* I bought this leash because of the extra length and nice price but have found it to be not quite up to par.Pros:The leash is long and gives my pup more freedom to roam. The retractor seems to work okay and even handled some moisture without apparent rust or issues. I like the bag holder on top. Very good price.Cons:The button lock can be difficult to operate and locks the leash easily but can be difficult to unlock unless you have some slack when doing so. If your dog pulls, this can be challenging. In only 2 months time, the reflective paint on the leash is wearing off. The biggest issue for me is the strap on the leash does not seem very robust. Unlike the higher priced "Flexi" brand, the strap on this leash will fold and curl up when twisted as often happens when the dog runs around and the curling becomes a permanent fixture on the strap in just a few minutes making the leash impossible to retract...it is like tying a knot in the leash. If it does retract the curl, it is very hard to get the strap to extend out unless you pull the strap out manually. The Flexi has a thicker strap that does not curl up and works much better. The strap is nylon...applying heat to flatten it out is not an option. I am concerned this curl might weaken the leash and friction may cause it to break. Right now my pup is only 5 months old and about 60 pounds..what will happen when she is 2 years old and 150? I have stopped using this one and gone back to the shorter "Flexi". Although the price is great, this product is mediocre at best. Spend the extra money and get the "Flexi"...you will be happier with the product and your dog will be safer. If the strap was thicker (not wider), this leash would be 4 to 5 stars but as it is now, I would not recommend this to any larger breed owner.I am disappointed and feel I wasted money buying this leash. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great, good deal! *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 16, 2017* After my initial 3-star review (in which I dinged the leash because the reflective tape was peeling back) I was contacted by a representative of the company, who informed me that there was a newer model that had the reflective tape stitched in to the leash. They sent me a new one and I have been trying it out. After using the new leash for a couple of weeks I have found it to be excellent. The reflective tape hasn't peeled one bit. All of the positives remain.The leash works okay for my 65-70 lb dog. When I first started using it I was afraid there wouldn't be enough spring action to retract the leash, but it seems to have loosened up a bit with use. Furthermore, the weaker spring makes me feel more comfortable using it when my dog has on his choke chain, because it's a smaller pull and doesn't bother him one bit. [***EDIT***My main complaint is that the reflective stripe began coming off soon after we started using it. I imagine the thin material (think teflon tape) will get caught up in the inner workings and mess up the action. *** END EDIT ***]The locking mechanism sometimes takes some convincing to operate properly (manually pulling the leash out an inch or two), but it's not a big deal. I like that the bag holder has openings on both sides.
