Do I need any other electronics for operation?** A: This module allows you to control a load that exceeds the current and/or voltage ratings of an Arduino or other microcontroller. You connect an Arduino output pin to the module’s IN+ lead, and the Arduino’s ground to the module’s IN- lead. The Arduino’s output pin is completely isolated from the module’s LOAD and DC-IN leads. You connect your external load’s DC power supply to the DC-IN leads (red=pos, black=neg) and your load between the LOAD leads, red=pos and black=neg. An example use would be to drive a brushed motor in one direction and at one speed. The power supply should be DC and a voltage less than 30V. The current draw of the motor should be less than 10A. When the Arduino output pin goes high the motor would spin, and when the pin went low, the motor would stop. If the motors moved in the wrong direction, you would reverse the LOAD leads. For this type of application, you do not need any additional electronics. **Q: I'm switching on/off a DC-DC 12-48V converter. It has DC control input of 12V, the load is 12V, 12A (max) = 144W. When I first connected the SSR to my circuit it did not work properly. It wasn't the SSR's fault; it was my fault. I contacted the manufacturer with the description of the problem and a simple diagram of my circuit. Within a day I received a reply with suggestions on what to change in my circuit so the SSR would work. After a couple more email correspondences back and forth their tech support was finally able to educate me enough so I could get everything working. Customer support like this is very rare today.
