However, I'll mention the reason why I purchased this speaker. At the time it was listed as 69.99 price but was on sale for about 70 percent cheaper. Now a week previously I helped a friend purchase a similar speaker but we did so in a Best Buy where you can try out the speakers before purchasing. We landed on a 60 dollar speaker from Sony that's about half the size of this one in height, but about 3 times the width of this one. However, it produced amazingly loud and clear sound with bass that shocked me that such a small device could produce. It was loud enough to be heard clearly at home with the air conditioner running. So, I took a chance and made the assumption that since this speaker's retail price is 10 dollars more than that awesome speaker I got from best buy that maybe I'm getting a hell of a deal by getting this for about 20 dollars. Well, I was wrong.. This is nowhere near the volume or quality of sound or bass reproduction to that speaker I was hoping it would be like.. Now in saying that, this still ins't a bad speaker. I was simply expecting it to be of similar quality as a similarly priced product. However, this speaker is good competition for other speakers in the 20 to 30 dollar price range. The sound is clear so long as you're not trying to boost the sound to absurd levels. The microphone works great too for using it as a speaker phone. I live in an area where reception is terrible and it's best to use the phone by the window, so the main use I have for the speaker now is make and receive phone calls at home without dropping the calls thanks to being able to just keep the phone by the window now. (Moving it from the window to my ear can drop a call) So, all in all. It's worth the 20 to 30 price range so long as they keep it there. The 69.99 retail price is too high and you can purchase a speaker with much better quality, however if you're looking for a decent speaker that's still a lot better than the cheap ones you find in dollar stores than this one is pretty good. Oh, the best thing about it I've found was the bluetooth range. Surprisingly I was able to use the speaker almost anywhere in the entire (1 story, U shape building) Also, this speaker is pretty simple to use. I'm currently trying to each my Mother how to use her smart phone and this speaker has made her ability to talk to people much easier for her and ended up being a great birthday/mothers day present.
