They are definitely not for playing an acoustic kit. You could do it if you wanted to, but you probably wouldn't like it. The sticks are longer than regular drumsticks, they're heavy, and they just feel weird on a kit. Plus, if you are used to hitting the rim of the snare, you'll almost certainly crack the stick. They're clear plastic, and they could definitely crack under heavy playing. I have an Alesis Strikepad electronic drum pad, and these are the perfect sticks for playing that thing **Q: Can they be used with a marching snare drum?** A: Umm, NO. Or probably not long. I guess that depends on how hard you're playing with them. If you're at home practicing while your parents are asleep one room over....maybe (until Dad beats your ass.
