Is the wood treated?** A: I can't confirm if the wood is treated. It is stained for sure. The frame is metal. I am also not sure how well the stain is sealed. I suspect if you chose to put it outside another layer of polyurethane would be helpful in the longevity of the product. **Q: If the total height of the stool is 15 inches, what is the height from the floor to the first step?** A: 7.5" to the first step- 15" total. Thanks** A: The 300lb limit is false, this item shipped to me in a box labeled "Pet Steps", first day took one step on it and snapped the top step. I have since returned it but saw that someone said this can support 300lbs which was a determining factor that led me to buy this.
