Hence the 5 year old will need assistance all the way, but it's not that much hustle. and if the children re doing it together big sister can help. **Q: Is it just one lantern if so what shape is it ?** A: So you have to make them up yourself with the string and glue there's two balloons if I can remember rightly a heart and a star you dip the string in the glue wrap it round the balloons leave it to dry then deflate the balloon and then you have two lanterns/lights which you fred the lights around . I hope this helps my daughter had so much fun doing this. **Q: Is this handmade glowing lantern easy to make? looks so attractive** A: We made two lanterns as decorations, which are really nice, but the process of making them requires waiting for the glue to dry completely before popping the balloons. We waited about 12 hours, but you will find it all worth it! **Q: Is this product suitable for my 9 year old niece as a birthday present|?** A: I believe so.
