My first batch (easy chocolate-from the included book) tastes more like a fudgscicle than ice cream, but I chalked that up to the recipe. And I do love fudgsciles. The second thing to remember is that it uses A LOT of ice. For a small batch, have at least 5 pounds of ice. Ice cream salt works the best, too. Unit is very easy to clean despite its size.
