With wheels on it is 56 inches from floor to top of cage. The cage part alone without the frame it sits on is 31 inches high. Hope that helps 😊 FYI I've had this cage for a couple years now. Budgies need more space to fly horizontally so I took the divider out between the two cages and my SO made a wooden frame insert to make sure the space in between wasn't something they could get stuck in and now they can fly from one end to the other. Also with the regular cage divider in the cages can be separated from the bottom part. So if you'd rather put them on your own base you can. I know this is more than your answer but wanted to let people know that this cage was awesome when moving to a new apartment. I did not have to catch my budgies. I put the original divider in and made them go to one side of the cage. Then I fastened the divider, because the divider is not attached really, it just slides in between the two cages, with ties to make half the cage into its own cage. Hope that makes sense. Then I just took the cage half with the budgies off the frame and moved it. You do need a good size vehicle though to do that but it was so easy. Then when I got to my new place I put both halves up on their base and took the divider out again. I have a parakeet and she needs a palace!** A: Yes you could do that...my hubby made an open frame to slide into the space...when I need to separate my parakeets I just slide it out and put the divider back in .. so yes maybe use the dowels on all four sides...your parakeet will love having the space to fly, as parakeets need more room to fly horizontally as opposed to vertically. Also this package didn't take forever to get here, which I liked. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Product for Parakeets - Clean it before you put your birds in it. *by B***N on October 17, 2022* This cage is an excellent upgrade for my birds, here are some things I noticed. + nothing came damaged, looks nice + Everything required to assemble is included (screws, allan wrench, screwdriver) + bar spacing really is 0.5 inches as advertised - If you use it without the divider the gap is about 0.6-0.7 inches, wider than the 0.5 inches that is recommended for parakeets but probably not a huge issue. I put vinyl tape over the gap to ease my mind. - there was some weird brown powder on some of the pieces (I wiped all pieces off with a vinegar solution before assembly to make sure it was safe and clean for my birds, I would recommend you do the same). - As others have mentioned, the instructions are not very detailed. I was however able to figure out in general where each piece went (front, back, side pieces of each half of the cage etc) and what screws to use on what by carefully looking at the illustration. It took me just over 2 hours to assemble by myself. The materials for the stand are all bundled together with zip ties, so it was easy to distinguish (plus the bar spacing is very wide on the shelf...lol very different from the rest of the cage) - While it all looks really nice it is cheap, the metal grate that goes over the bottom of the cage fell out when I was putting the wheels on and the handle disconnected. I don't personally care about the handle, but it speaks to the durability of the cage. Parakeets are not going to bend any bars but a stronger bird could. -/+ the pieces don't square up really well until screwed into place (after that almost perfect). This doesn't bother me at all, but it is something to note. -/+ I didn't end up using the food containers or dowell perches because I don't think they are the best of birds, but nice that it had the option! I will probably use the wire platforms it came with in the future. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and my four parakeets seem to be enjoying their new home.
