Why will this not work for my manual 4.0?** A: This unit just working for wrangler 1991-2003 with 4.0L. **Q: Is tuning required?** A: I installed this on my 97’ Jeep Cherokee xj with the 6 cylinder 4.0 motor. There was no tuning or adjustments needed. The only thing I did which i don’t think is required was I disconnected my battery before I started the project. So it was disconnected for 20-30 minutes. Other than that I just installed it and hooked the battery up. It started right up and I noticed a better throttle response and more power from take off to higher speeds. **Q: Will this work on a 1993 jeep cherokee sport with a 4.0? The description is contradicting** A: It will work on any 4.0 with the three cable throttle system. I would recommend removing the intake and cleaning the entire system and replacing the idle air, throttle position, MAP and intake air temp sensors at the same time for best results. If installing a cold air i take, be careful to make sure you have hood clearance. **Q: is this made in the USA?** A: No, it’s a Chinese knockoff ## Frequently Bought Together - Replace 1724 62mm Throttle Body for 1991-2003 Wrangler Cherokee 4.0L YJ TJ XJ ZJ WJ High Flow Power - PQY Throttle Body Spacer Compatible with 91-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ YJ LJ Cherokee XJ 2.5L/4.0L Engine Gas MJ w/Gasket 1" Raise Manifold Carb Red - Rough Country Cold Air Intake for 1991-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ | 4.0L - 10552 --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/454730313-62mm-throttle-body-high-flow-power-replace-1724-for-jeep](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/454730313-62mm-throttle-body-high-flow-power-replace-1724-for-jeep) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-02*
