Check out how big it actually is as the pics can be deceiving. I would say that they are great for pickling! rubber seal helps to keep any air out. **Q: Can a mans large hand fit in jar** A: This jar is ideal for a largish man's hand. Although tread with cautions as I am certain it would only fit one largish man's hand. You would need another similar sized jar for the other hand. As for the remainder of the body, it would depend very much on how well you have carved it up. Although I do believe Kilner offer a large range of receptacles suitable for most body parts. I would recommend Formaldehyde if you are looking to preserve the hand. Although as this is a Category 1B Carcinogen, Amazon do not supply it, you would need to find a registered supplier.
