Instructions included are well written and easy to follow. The siding cut outs aligned nicely with the 1/2" X 4" vinyl siding on our home. I used exterior silicone caulk to ensure a watertight seal against the house and around the base of the light. Once the old block and box were removed it took me about 10 minutes to install the new block/junction box combo and another 20 minutes to wire up/install the light and caulk the joints. While it may seem pricey, the quality, integrated junction box, ease of installation and finished appearance make it worth your consideration...I am very satisfied with the purchase. I may paint the block to match the siding but it looks just fine as is (see pictures).
