The best purchase I have ever made
So I’ve used a fountain for my cat for a while, first the cat-it fountain and then a stainless steel one that held more water. The stainless steel one was getting incredibly slimy so quickly, I had to full on take it apart and wash it almost every other day. So after some digging I decided on this ceramic one, my favorite one yet.So, my favorite thing is that it’s an open bowl so that if the power goes out, my cat can still drink. I love that it doesn’t make any noise at all, either the motor or the running water. I can’t stand the sound of a water fountain running, or like that fish tank trinkle sound. My other 2 fountains did that if they got even like an inch lower than full. This one is quiet and amazing. Since the motor is in the bottom and pushes the water up through the big dome in the middle, it can get pretty low and still function, but I wouldn’t recommend relying on that cause you don’t wanna burn out the motor. I love the open bowl because it’s also easy to visually see when you need to refill it and you just pour it right in.This thing is so easy to clean, literally everything except the motor is dishwasher safe, and the cord has a thing where it detaches in the middle so that you can pull the motor out without having to weave the whole cord and plug through the hole. It’s physically so easy and simple to take apart, there aren’t like a hundred pieces of things that all collect slime. I usually clean mine once a week but I’ve left it for a lot longer just being lazy and topping it off, and the slime only developed after a few weeks. It does come with a filter that you can use, but it works without it too. You have to still use the filter housing to help give the water a way to get to the top of the dome, but I left the filter out because I use filtered water already, and I like to use a dental additive that I didn’t want to get filtered out immediately. To be a crazy cat lady just a little, I also love that the ceramic keeps the water pretty cold. I give my cat water out of the water pitcher we keep in the fridge and I’ve noticed he drinks more if it’s a little chilly.Last thing, and what really sealed the deal. The filter housing is pretty much the only plastic thing, and one day I didn’t put it in my dishwasher right (my fault) and it fell to the bottom and melted on the heating element that’s on there. Absolutely my own fault. But! The customer service for this fountain is amazing, I contacted them and they sent me a replacement piece for it, and the shipping was so fast. It didn’t even have to be that fast because without using the motor this is still a decent regular water bowl. But definitely a company worth investing in, and a really good quality and thought out product.

Purrfect!
Very easy to assemble and clean, super quiet, my cat and dog both use it. Porcelains works much better than plastic or metal. Affordable standard refills available.

Silent, splashless, and lovely
The pump is extremely quiet, and the flow of water creates zero splashes -- so I can't hear this from 10 feet away. Which is exactly what I wanted! My fountain sits on linoleum, but since my cat isn't a splasher when she drinks, I would have no problem putting the fountain on carpet instead. My cat doesn't use the bubbling region at the top of the dome; she only drinks from the well at the bottom. So I shoved the pump assembly over towards one of the sides to make the well area larger. I wish there wasn't a rectangular depression in the middle of the bottom dish to indicate where to attach the pump, because the irregularity of the bottom means the dome is slightly tilted when I move it all to one side. But the tilt is not very noticeable, and everything still works the same way with no leaking or splashing.I chose this unit partly because the cat can still drink from it when the power goes out, because the well at the bottom is open -- a lot of other modern fountains basically hide the well and just have a spout or shallow dish at the top, but when the pump isn't on, the water is all drained to the bottom. Something to think about if you are considering different models! My cat is on 100% dry food for dietary reasons, so I keep a gallon of purified water nearby and top up the fountain once a day. I clean the whole thing every week, at least washing biofilm off all the surfaces and rinsing out the mesh filter that fits around the pump. I replace the filter every few weeks. When you replace the filter, be sure to rinse the new one thoroughly with water and tap and shake it a bunch to remove the excess carbon dust; otherwise, your fountain will quickly accumulate black smudges on the ceramic surfaces touched by the water. There is no risk to your pets' health though.Overall a great find!

Very nice fountain
This is a heavy ceramic fountain. It is very quiet and easy to clean. My last fountain was plastic and made a lot of noise and was a project to clean. I was planning on stainless steel, but heard concerns that turned me to ceramic. I did not want a faucet/spicket design. This works great for my cats. It was very easy to put together.

Love the fountain, but the cats don't
Love the fountain, aesthetically speaking. I like that it's ceramic, super easy to assemble, great instructions, and seems like a solid company I like to support. It is very quiet. I have 4 abandoned cats, 3 of which are related, and need to remain separated from the other male cat who doesn't like having the others around. I've been challenged to get the three to drink enough water, as they are scratching the floor of any dish I put down, as I know they consider the water 'dirty' or not fresh. I thought I'd try a fountain, esp. when the male cat that's part of the family developed a UTI w/ some small amounts of blood coming out. I've had it for several weeks now, and none of the three will go near it. My husband thought it could be the design w/ the tall cone gets in the way. Cats, I've learned, need flat dishes for their food so their whiskers don't hit the sides of a bowl, which bothers them. Maybe the cone is an obstacle for them? Not sure. So, I knocked one star off. I may give it a few more days, before moving it into the other room to see if the other male cat drinks from it. He's better about drinking water, so I wasn't as concerned, but I also felt bad asking to return it. I may try another ceramic fountain with a different, more open round shape, although personally, I love how this one looks.

Pricey but worth it
The flowing water encourages your pet to drink and the water is constantly being filtered. The waterfall is very quiet and gentle, as to not scare the pet. My 2 cats love it, but it took 1 of my cats about a month to not be afraid of it and start drinking. While your cat gets used to it, avoid showing it to the cat without the cover, as that will slow down progress. The pump will make a quiet humming if the water is below 3/4 full, otherwise it is silent.

4/4 Cats Agree
I have 4 cats (2 fosters), and they all LOVE this fountain. I had a plastic fountain before this one but it got really gross quite fast and I even found some black bacterial growth on the inside of the cover. This one is easier to clean, is basically silent, and I feel better knowing the ceramic is going to hold up better and has less of a chance of bacteria growth when cleaned regularly. It comes in seperate pieces but the instructions are easy to follow and I love that I can take apart every aspect of the fountain for cleaning.
