To be placed on your steamed coffee bed, the Normcore Puck Screen helps create a softer and more consistent water flow for your puck. It not only helps with reduced draining, but also improves extraction. Best of all, it keeps your brewing head (through minimal contact with coffee grounds) as well as the basket clean and tidy. The coffee pucks are more compact and can be ejected in one piece without swirling around. With a filter fineness of 150 microns, this shower screen promotes full extraction of your coffee grounds. 1.7mm (most popular) or 1mm thickness? It is recommended to choose a thickness of 1.7 mm when the coffee grinding dose is normal. This does not affect normal extraction. If the coffee grinder dose is larger and very fine, it is recommended to choose a thickness of 1 mm puck strainer Extended selection: As the fibre density of dark roast beans is higher than with light/medium roasting, the volume of dark roast beans is higher than with light/medium roasting. These have held up much better than I expected after over a year of daily use. Just be aware that they are not flimsy, which in turn means the are a little thicker than most. It fit perfectly in the portafilter as well. The puck screens are really well made and have a nice weight to them. I had expected something pretty flimsy so I was impressed with this. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Helps reduce channeling and improves the coffee of the expresso

I think it is a great tool to minimize channeling when pulling an expresso shot. It is important to consider that it will add extra thickness to the pack so you need a larger filter basket that you would normally need. In my case, I have a Bezzera BZ13 and I use a 18 grams IMS portafilter with a 14.5 grams dose. If the 1.7 millimeters is pressed against the screw that holds the screen in your expresso machine, you can try the 1 millimeter puck screen or a larger basket. In my case, another thing I like is that I can do a quick pre infusion without having to worry so much about the pressure. My machine does not have a preinfussion without pressure, the pump does turn on. So this way, the puck does not get that first impact, as the puck screen will slow down the pressure. I leave it like that for 15’ seconds before pulling the shot and it turns out great!
