Any advice?** A: Oil your machine very very thoroughly at the hand wheel; you should be able to spin it freely with a finger. Your belt may need shortened, as they do stretch. Simply unbend the staple, cut it shorter, and repeat the installation steps for replacing it. The belt may also be extremely dry. It will pick up oil from the machine over time, but I do give mine a head start with a little paste wax. Once your belt length is good, have some paste wax on your fingers, and loosely hold them on the belt, allowing it to slip through them as you treadle.
