Wasted 2 days and a lovely recipe on these beans. Despite 15 hours of soaking followed by all day cooking, the beans never softened. I've been told they were probably old. Don't know, but what a waste! The only reason I bought them was my local Whole Foods was out of cannellini beans; yesterday I got some there, soaked them overnight, and the dish came out perfectly this morning. Something was really wrong with those beans from Hunza!

I was unable to purchase dried cannellini beans at Whole Foods or any other market like them in my area, and I searched. I sprout all beans I use and have not been happy with the Great Northern beans at WF. These beans are perfect for my needs, they sprouted quickly and are tasty, with a creamy texture in soup.

I soaked these overnight, and boiled them for hours and they were still very woody and basically inedible.  Nothing like the normal soaking andcooking time required for other beans.  I was disappointed because they were organic too.
