With bore light show on the far wall I aligned my red dot on top of it. I did this with a 12 gauge pump, several .223 rifles and a 9mm carbine. All using different bore sights of course. At range everything was within two clicks or right on. I did adjust the .223 and 9 to shoot a little higher. Twelve gauge was right on for twelve feet, which is good range for a home shotgun. **Q: Does this one turn on when trigger is pulled or does it stay on all time once place in chamber?** A: The laser turns on when the batteries are inserted and the cap is screwed on. There is no switch. You won't want to pull the trigger when this is in the chamber, as the back of the boresighter is brass and likely won't react well to a firing pin strike. It works pretty well. Keep in mind you just use this to align your sights and then eject the round. Same zero regardless of orientation in chamber *by R***N on December 7, 2024* This is my 3rd 12 gauge bore sighter and the only one that has actually been accurate. Other brands were all several inches difference and several degrees off. This is the only one that held the same position as you rotated it in the chamber. Lined up perfect with my iron sights so I know my optic is dead on. Looks to be extremely high quality and really heavy for how small it is which tells me it's a lot higher quality than the other cheapo brands.
