Dock worked perfectly and although it was expensive, it was still the cheapest dock of its kind that I could find anywhere. Currently using it for a boot drive with a Samsung 990 pro 4TB and I have no complaints. Very happy! Review: Doesn't work .. don't waste your money - returned the first one as it didn't work.. replacement doesn't either. I connect the drives directly and they work fine. We buy many SATA bays from IcyDock never had a problem, but this just does not work. I'm going to try the MB601M2K-1B as that one seems to use a regular cable (not mini-SAS) ... they can't mess that up surely ! After a web search I saw some other poor guy got 3 bad units in a single order. My conclusion is a whole batch of these bays are defective. ## Features - Supports 1x 2.5” U.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0/4.0 SSD (up to 15mm drive height) - Uses 1x Slimline SAS (SFF-8654) connector, pin-out defined by SFF-9402 Rev 1.1 - Fits in 1x external 3.5" drive bay - Compliant with PCIe 3.0/4.0 up to 64Gbps transfer speeds - Heavy-Duty full-metal chassis with industrial-grade ABS plastic ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B09BP3CWJ1 | | Best Sellers Rank | #1,483 in Enclosures | | Brand | ICY DOCK | | Compatible Devices | Laptop | | Customer Reviews | 3.8 out of 5 stars 4 Reviews | | Data Transfer Rate | 64000 megabytes_per_second | | Enclosure Material | Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) | | Hard Disk Form Factor | 2.5 inches | | Hardware Interface | PCI Express 4.0 | | Hardware Platform | PC | | Item Weight | 9.6 ounces | | Manufacturer | ICYDOCK | | Material | Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) | | Mfr Part Number | MB021VP-B | | Model Number | MB021VP-B | | Number of Items | 1 | | Supported Devices Quantity | 1 | | UPC | 884826508663 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | 3 Years | ## Product Details - **Brand:** ICY DOCK - **Hardware Interface:** PCI Express 4.0 - **Hardware Platform:** PC - **Item Weight:** 9.6 ounces - **Material:** Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) ## Images ![ICY DOCK U.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0/4.0 SSD Tray-Less Docking Enclosure for External 3.5" Drive Bay | flexiDOCK MB021VP-B (Tri-Mode Incompatible) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61j0uMqpWTL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Saw some bad reviews about this dock here and I have no idea why?!? *by S***C on August 10, 2025* Once I got the U.2 to miniSAS cable, and an enclosure to house my nvme, I was all set. My conclusion is a whole batch of these bays are defective. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked perfectly *by N***O on September 6, 2023* I am also impressed about the support from ICY Dock, they answer me questions about the cables and adapters. Used an "Cablecc NGFF M-Key NVME to U.2 U2 Kit SFF-8639 to SFF-8654 Slimline SAS PCIe SSD Adapter for Mainboard" and "DiLiVing SlimSAS 4i (SFF-8654 38pin) to SlimSAS 4i (SFF-8654 38pin) Straight Cable 1M " currently still available at Amazon the day I wrote the review. You also have to power the drive with a Sata power from the PSU. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/466971417-icy-dock-u-2-nvme-pcie-3-0-4-0](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/466971417-icy-dock-u-2-nvme-pcie-3-0-4-0) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-06*
