Major disappointment. *by J***Z on Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2014* This product might not be a bad choice for some, but I personally invested in a digital thermometer because I wanted accurate and quick readings. I assumed that this probe was going to allow me to check temperatures with the tip of the probe and get an instant reading. However the reading takes 20+ seconds to give a reading for boiling water and wavers between 2-3 degrees once it's near a full reading. It also takes a while to cool down too. It's about the same speed as using an analog thermometer. It seems that the whole 3" probe is temperature sensing which makes it hard to measure the temperature of a specific point, but I might be wrong about this detail. It did the job for about 2 days. Then the hard black piece holding the probe started to warp and the yellow rubber?, plastic? started to melt a little exposing the wires.
