If I was concerned, I would use a “weight rated” tie down relative to how/what I am using it for. **Q: I need the strap to be abt 4' long. can i cut it? if i cut it, is there any way to prevent the cut end from unraveling?** A: I have not cut this particular strap but I have cut many others and just burned the ends to keep them from unraveling **Q: What is the thickness of this Strap** A: The webbing we use for these Endless Ratchets measures 1" wide by around .08in (2mm) thick. **Q: How do you release the strap once tightened?** A: The small black bar under the spring (see picture on Amazon), just squeeze the bar compressing the spring and the tension is released.
