For starters, one of the pins that the control cables attach to was damaged from the factory (smashed) so I spent an hour filing it down so that the cable would fit. Then, first time out on the water, the trim up switch started sticking and caused my motor to continue to trim up while underway. This wasn’t the button hanging up on the handle but an internal problem in the cheap switch. The real problems started on my second trip out. While 36miles from the dock, my outboard blew the ignition 12v supply fuse. Luckily I had tools and extra fuses and made it back. While loading the boat on the trailer I had to replace the fuse again when I tried to restart the engine. After a day of troubleshooting, I traced the problem back to the ignition switch, which came with this controller. The switch is so cheap that just a slight bit of too much pressure on the key and it will short out .
