I used it in trying to restore an old electric fan. While it really does give things that silvery look, it's only to a limited extent. The shine is certainly not going to fool anyone that it is silver or chrome, but compared to oxidized or rusted metal, it's a great improvement. It worked quite well on the fan's cage, where the surface is small. On the broader expanse of the fan blades, it created a much more dull-looking sheen. Not bad. I didn't expect miracles, and I was not disappointed. The product seems like metallic particles in a waxy carrier that can be rubbed and buffed by hand using a soft cloth. It's not like having something professionally plated, but it is a fine look. Review: Rub n Buff - Awesome product. Has strong smell but, it dissipates. It covers well! It comes in awesome metallic colors. ## Features - A Little Goes a Long Way - Made from fine powders and carnauba wax, this 15 ml tube can cover up to 20 sq feet so you can work on several projects large and small. We were able to achieve great coverage - one tube coated the hinges and plates on 12 doors. Using the Silver Leaf color, a combination of a microfiber cloth and a craft brush allowed us to create a nice finish that well matched our new doors and our new brushed nickel knob hardware placed on the old ones. Based on other reviews, we thought it was worth a try. We are glad we did, as this proved to be a great alternative to changing out all of the hinges on our doors. We were able to create a cohesive look between our old doors and our new doors, which came with brushed nickel plates and hinges. One really has to get up very close to see the refinish. ## Frequently Bought Together - AMACO Rub n Buff Wax Metallic Finish - 3 Rub n Buff Silver Leaf 15ml Tubes - Versatile Gilding Wax for Finishing Furniture Antiquing and Restoration - Rub and Buff Colors Set of Three - AMACO Rub n Buff Wax Metallic Finish - 3 Rub n Buff Gold Leaf 15ml Tubes - Versatile Gilding Wax for Finishing Furniture Antiquing and Restoration - Rub and Buff Colors Set of Three - AMACO Rub n Buff Wax Metallic Finish - 3 Rub n Buff Ebony 15ml Tubes - Versatile Gilding Wax for Finishing Furniture Antiquing and Restoration - Rub and Buff Colors Set of Three --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/471761373-amaco-rub-n-buff-wax-metallic-finish-3-rub-n](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/471761373-amaco-rub-n-buff-wax-metallic-finish-3-rub-n) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-10*
