How can I best do this?** A: You could be in luck with this style. Originally, this is the style I bought for frequently-used kitchen drawers and cabinets. With lots of use, the screws in these have to be constantly tightened; I found the glue holding the screws to the inside of the knob often became loose. In the end I used this style in my bathroom drawers and cabinets, and order ones with screws though the whole knobs for the kitchen. You could either take a chance with the ones you wrote about OR Amazon has some you can buy less of - and see if you can get that screw off easily (hair-dryer might help too.) At least, mine were. They are pretty. There were several doubles, so I used those when I wanted two doors to match. **Q: Are these bright white or muted colors?** A: The knobs that have a lot of white are bright white. The colors are phenomenal! **Q: what size drill bit is needed to drill the holes for them?** A: I didn't have to drill holes in my doors, just remove the old knobs and twist in the new ones. But I did get my drill bits out and the 5/32 is the same size as the screws attached to the vintage knobs. The kitchen cabinets are in unbelievably good shape and fit the character of the house, but their original pulls have seen better days. Unfortunately, they are a custom size which means that changing them would require patching, drilling new holes and likely causing instability.I found these knobs on Amazon and could not believe how perfect they are! Each cabinet door now has has two knobs instead of one pull. I love the different colors and designs, as well as the durability of these knobs.Each one of the 30 is different (I needed 2 sets for my kitchen), which really makes the look fun. I love these old cabinets and would have stripped and refinished the old pulls, rather than risk damaging the doors with new pulls. These knobs solved my problem easily and inexpensively as well as giving me color and whimsy!
