I decided to get this big chef's pan and Calphalon, like everything else, has made great strides in the past quarter century. I had no idea. The new Calphalon has an incredible coating. It's as good as these "diamond" non stick pans that make the food taste rubbery. I'm thinking of getting a whole new set of Calphalon because I like this one pan so much. The lid is great. You can see everything cooking. The pan itself is large and deep, so you can make dishes with a sauce, like coq au vin. I got it on sale so the price was great. No complaints.
