I usually have a small piece of different gauge wire handy like these sizes and I just compare my known sizes to the size am working with. 14 gauge is fairly big but good to use if you have incandescent fog lights, these usually pull a lot of amps, if LED's don't worry using 16 gauge., just make sure you have the positive/negative leads correct. Anyway you can't go wrong using a little heavier gauge wire on most everything you're wiring. I've had very good luck using these fuse holders and the caps keep the dampness out. I have them on my lawn mowers, ATV, car, van and on my DC emergency lights in the house and garage 0¿0 AND, you can solder the leads and insulate them with heat shrink !!
