I got two. One had a dead battery, the other was on and working when I opened the package. They take 2032 batteries, I get them for less than $2 each. I use them in my refrigerator, to monitor the temperature. I like that it has a high temp memory. I have kids who have been known to leave the door open. This is like a tattletale if the door is left open. The two thermostats read reasonably close to each other, and are reasonably close to the reading I get from my expensive Fluke Thermometer. Some have complained about the battery life. Unfortunately, these do not have a pull tab to keep the battery new, so if the one you get was made 6 months ago, it is likely the battery will not last. Mine came with a little screwdriver to fit the 4 tiny screws in the back. Just pop in a new battery and you’re good to go.
