The large kettle is perfect for boiling water, and the smaller teapot is for brewing a tea. You can also use the larger kettle to boil water, add some tea bags to make tea for a larger party - ENJOY TEA ALL DAY LONG. This is a 110V tea maker for US and Canada use. It has a stainless steel heating element at the base, and a glass container mounted on it. The footed base, handles and top cover are quality, heat proof, BPA FREE, synthetic material. The stay warm function, keeps water warm at the selected temperature (not at 100!) If the temperature drops (typically happens when you add more water), the system will reheat to boil the water. If you set the knob to 100, it will shut off. - DIMENSIONS and SAFETY GRIP. The unit is 42cm/16 2/8 inches without the kettle on top. With the kettle it is 53cm/21 6/8 inches. The handles of the large glass kettle have a silicone heat protection grip. Stand is made from durable, BPA free synthetic material. - EASY TO USE. Turn on unit, select preferred temperature. Unit will start heating up to boil water, then level off to the selected temperature. If you select 100 degrees, the unit will boil contents and then shut off. Does this have a 'keep warm' function? If so, when does it come on?** A: After speaking with the customer, we discovered that he lives in a higher than usual elevation which changes the boiling temperature. The customer was at a high altitude, 6,500 feet. The boiling point of water at that level is 199.5 degrees, Fahrenheit. The boiling point of water at sea level is 212 degrees. The water temperature at boiling, on the tea maker was not able to get hot enough to trigger the stay warm function. Our next generation tea makers (coming out February 2018) will circumvent this issue. **Q: Will this Samovar work in Siwtzerland ? 220 voltage** A: Thsi samovar is 110V We do have 220V for Switzerland. This is a very easy-to-use tea maker that prepares very good tea in 10-15 minutes. Not only it reduces the time to prepare the tea, but the tea also lasts longer thanks to huge water reserve (~4L) and the ability to keep the tea hot at any given time. We had tea sessions lasting hours with this samovar and the last tea was as good as the first one!If you are looking for an elegant, easy-to-use tea maker that produces very high quality tea, I strongly recommend this product.PS: The company (RAYA Home) has an amazing customer service department. Our initial tea maker actually broke after 2.5 months of usage so that it would no longer boil the water. When I contacted RAYA Home, Yasmin from the customer care, was extremely understanding and agreed to send us a replacement unit right away. Although we never figured out exactly what was wrong with the initial unit (our best guess is a defective power cable at this point), any complex electronics could have similar manufacturing defects. I order one, which was defected, returned and got a new one and the new one worked for less than a month. I wish I had a choice of zero star. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We use it every day! *by C***S on January 23, 2021* This was a Christmas present for me and my wife, we both drink hot beverages every day and were constantly filling and putting our previous kettle on all day, which actually took a while to fill and heat.This has been awesome for us! We fill in once in the morning and use it all day! It is beautiful and silent - red/blue leds let you know when the water is ready. It heats up quickly (I think I measured about 15 mins for 4.5 liters to boiling, which is a huge amount of water)It turns off after 12 hours so you don’t have to worry about remembering to turn it off at night. It’s our favorite, and saves us a ton of time.One downside is the spout is like 6 inches above the counter, so if you wanna do drip coffee it’s not tall enough to fit over the mug and the funnel.
