**Q: Would this antenna do well as a permenant install with a base station?**
A: Yes. The antenna is really great  as all-band. The gain is not the best in the world but with a pre-amp you can do the rest.  10,12,15,17,20 Awesome. 40-80-160 You need to use the cable "counterpoise" which is like 62' feet long. For me is a great deal because I have HOA and i can mount and unmount so quick. I'm in fort lauderdale and I worked stations from spain, southamerica, NY, NJ.  Regards, KP4IT
