When I first opened the box one of the dumbbell cradles had a cracked plastic part that made it more difficult to rerack the weight. However, after emailing customer support, they sent out a replacement cradle to me that same day and at no charge, and it arrived after about a week. I won't dock a star for the item being slightly damaged out of the box because sometimes it happens. Now onto the dumbbells... Pros- The cast iron plates just look and feel awesome. No issues with the plates feeling insecure and the plates themselves are very durable. I love the handles! The steel grip with the knurling feels like an actual gym dumbbell. The 80 pound max weight is such a game changer for me. While 80 isn't quite enough for some exercises (chest press, db rows, shrugs), it is still enough to get in the work I need. You can't just drop these. Although it seems fairly durable, you will most certainly break the plastic connectors if you are carelessly throwing them around.
