I know it's difficult to answer unless you have decibel reading, but I want as quiet an engraver as possible.** A: 63db on metal mounted in a suction vice, 60-114db on glass sheet, 4mm x2000mm x 2000mm. Having never attempted this before I decided to go for the Dremel based on other reviews and wasn’t disappointed. It came as stated, mains connected tool with one attachment. Turns on and off at the back and you can control speed on the side. There’s a formed soft rubber pad (the gray part in the picture) to hold when engraving so you don’t end up with blisters etc after use. Worked well for engraving a words. Bigger areas took more work and didn’t come out so well, poor combination of wood and the narrow engraving tip. I probably shouldn’t have used this type of tool for what I was trying to achieve. Perfect for a beginner like me.
