Review: Good value headset - Bought these 9 years ago. Comfortable enough. Sound quality hasn’t been too bad. Although I have Xbox, I bought the PlayStation set as I preferred the blue. The faux leather covering on the ear pads has started to wear away over the last 2-3 years and the volume potentiometer is on its way out as the sound sometimes goes in one ear when turning volume up/down. I’m surprised they are still in production and on sale, but that’s testament to the quality. I’ll probably buy another set to replace them.
Review: Comfortable and Great value - Great value for the price. The sound is clear, the microphone works well, and it’s comfortable to wear for long gaming sessions. It’s easy to set up and works with all my devices. The cable is a little basic, but overall it’s a reliable budget headset that I’d happily recommend.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good value headset

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Comfortable and Great value

Great value for the price. The sound is clear, the microphone works well, and it’s comfortable to wear for long gaming sessions. It’s easy to set up and works with all my devices. The cable is a little basic, but overall it’s a reliable budget headset that I’d happily recommend.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good quality wired headset that ticks the basics
*by R***H on 3 February 2026*

Good quality wired headset that ticks the basics This Turtle Beach Recon 50X headset feels like a solid bit of kit for the price and does exactly what you’d expect from a reputable brand without costing the earth. The build quality feels good for an affordable wired set, and it’s comfortable enough to wear for a couple of hours of gaming without any discomfort. The ear cushions are soft, and the overall fit sits nicely on the head without feeling too tight. Sound quality is respectable for the price bracket, with clear audio that works well for games and chat alike. It doesn’t have the depth or richness of more premium headsets, but for everyday gaming on Xbox, PlayStation or PC it does the job well enough and helps you hear footsteps and in-game cues without feeling underwhelmed. The wired connection keeps things simple and reliable without having to worry about batteries or pairing issues. Overall it’s a decent budget headset that feels like good quality from a well-known brand and gives you everything needed for casual to regular gaming without breaking the bank.
