Review: is fantastic. It has a good balance of characters - I never owned a Wii U, so I never got a chance to play the original Pokkén Tournament. But this remastered version, which I can play as I own a Switch, is fantastic. It has a good balance of characters, including the ones which were arcade exclusive and newcomer Deduseye, and the story mode has a fair learning curve, even though the fights with Shadow Mewtwo can kick your behind if you aren't prepared. And the online, while I haven't played yet myself, has some very good features, including the ability to watch others fight through the recordings posted. And this is also more like what a Pokémon battle should be like if it was for real, which is a plus in my book.
Review: Works perfectly.. is in English - Works perfectly 👌 My son loves this game. A+

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will 2 players be able to play this using the same console? Don't want to buy it if my kids can't play together.**
A: Hi there, the demo is available for free on nintendo shop and we could play that 2 player just using the split joy con. I expect the main game will be the same. :)

**Q: Does it have a story mode.**
A: Not an unreasonable question (even allowing for the fact that it's not released yet). Often there is a great deal of info available pre-release. I beleive it's a port of the Wii U version which I understand had a linear single player mode. In these types of games you often get to play in single player mode like Tekken and Soul Calibre etc so if that's what you mean I imagine there would be but I'm not certain. Hope this was hellful.

**Q: can this be played multi player offline or only online?**
A: My boys play together on the same Switch. Not 100% sure if they are online but have a recollection that it is no.

**Q: Is this game supported on the nintendo switch lite?**
A: Yes. All Nintendo switch games can be played on the lite.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Weedle of fighting games.

Announced a few months back, the re-release of the Wii U Pokemon game has been ported to the Switch console with some extra improvements from the original. It should be noted that this is NOT a standard Pokemon game that you see on the handheld systems but a fighting style game. The premise is simple, you choose your fighter from a surprisingly impressive roaster, select a backup fighter who acts as a special attack and then fight against an opponent. You are in complete control of your fighters movements and attacks. It is not a turn based fight but more like a 3D Street Fighter. You can move around the area in complete 3D and attack from all angles. Each fighter has a weak but fast attack all the way up to slow but strong so timing your attacks is vital. There are combo inputs but nothing too complicated. The game uses the standard health system where each fighter as bar of health and when depleted, the round ends. First to two rounds wins. The fighting mechanics are impressive and the controls are tight but there is a floaty feel to the way the Pokemon move around the ring which does feel a little strange to start with. For me though the biggest let down about this game is that it is just fighting and nothing else. While that seems strange to say about a fighting game I do feel it could have greatly benefited from an Adventure mode of some kind or even a story mode like what MKX or Injustice had. You can fight on-line and while I did get a game pretty quick it wasn’t anything that special. Overall, this is a pretty good game and the presentation is excellent but it can become very stale very quickly. However, the on the go play the Switch brings does make it standout from the Wii U original. You can play two player off line, which is great fun and easily more enjoyable then the on-line. I for one hope to see more Pokemon games make their way to the Switch in the future as it is the perfect system for it but these kind of games seem more like filler then anything meaningful. The up coming sequel to Sun and Moon on 3Ds may have been a better choice for the Switch but they have their reasons for not doing so. I did miss out on this game the first time it released on Wii U and was looking forward to playing the Switch version. So is it worth buying? Well, I’d say yes but it is quite a shallow game overall and has very few things to do outside of fighting and it can’t compete in the same ring as the heavy weights of Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. Still, you will get at least a few hours of enjoyment from it and the on the go feature helps it. While I can understand that Nintendo are porting over their Wii U games which is not a bad thing, I think it would have more sense to port Super Smash Bros U first instead of this game. Gameplay (13/20) Graphics (15/20) Sound (15/20) Replay Value (13/20) Value for money (14/20) 70/100
